   This CD includes all the tracks from the album Step Ahead plus three live tracks and two previously unreleased tracks, recorded at Step Ahead studio rehearsal in Made in France.    Ferrieux was replaced then by Philippe Recht and Step Ahead kept playing live and recording in the studio. Three live pieces from a performance at Theatre De Verdure in November 82' are included in the album's CD reissue by Musea, along with two new pieces, rehearsed by the line-up.

   "Steps Ahead" remained my favorite jazz album all through high school. All of the musicians are incredible. And they have a very unique sound. I think of how Eddie Gomez (the bassist) was constantly bending and warping pitch, or the way the other musicians would phase in and out of tonality. They knew what they were doing. This stuff was /5(38).

   Step Ahead biography Founded in Nice, France in - Disbanded in French act STEP AHEAD was active in the early 80's. Their only release prior to breaking up, 's "Step Ahead" has seen lots of praise coming its way, which has led to the album being reissued two times so far.
